COMING SOON new outdoor games pitch (MUGA) and Community garden

Dear all 

Boiler House Spaces, the community charity based at George Downing Estate, is soon to move ahead with our longstanding plans to:

Create a community garden 
and 
Build a new sports pitch (multi use games area - MUGA)

Both the MUGA and garden will add significantly to the facilities we can offer local people alongside the Boiler House community centre. 

Thank you to all of you who have joined our community planning sessions and supported us over the years.

As you may have heard from our previous messages and consultations earlier this year, we had to revise our plans due to not having enough funds for the original project and we got seriously delayed.

But now thanks to our funders and supporters, we are going ahead with the first phase of space improvements hopefully  starting work the week of November 18th

We will : 

1. Remove the existing MUGA 
2. Build a new smaller MUGA adjacent to the Cazenove Rd on the area behind the hoardings 
3. Create a community garden on the area of the existing MUGA and up to the Cazenove Rd.

Please see the outline of the MUGA in the sketch plans attached. 

There will be some noise and disruption during the works that will last about 3-6 weeks. We apologise for any inconvenience and disturbance this causes.

The garden design and works will be finished off in the early part of 2025.
